Prairie Tales

So, I was on the selection jury for the Prairie Tales 8. Prairie Tales is a film compilation put together through the Metro Cinema every year of the best Alberta short films. It took only 5 1/2 hours to look through more than 40 films, and then another hour or so to pick the 11 films that will be shown this year.

It’s a great set of films. I’m very happy with how it went. The jury was agreeable and lively–Anthea Black from Stride Gallery in Calgary, animator Richard Reeves, U of A Film Studies prof Jerry White and me. They’re all awesome.

You wanna know the list of films? That’s a secret!

Congratulations on the new weblog, Mari. We expect to hear at least one secret a week, or at least some reasonably juicy gossip.
